Stephen Allan, Chairman & CEO

Stephen Allan was recently named MediaCom Worldwide's global Chairman & CEO.

Stephen began his career at Yershon Media where he joined as a trainee in 1981.   

In 1982 he joined The Media Business as a Media Executive, working his way up to become  - in 1987, at the age of 24 - the youngest Director of any advertising agency/media specialist in the UK.  In 1993, Stephen was named Managing Director of the TMBG Group. 

After the merger of TMBG and MediaCom, Stephen served as MD of the merged company, and from 1999 as CEO of the MediaCom group.  In this position, he oversaw what was undoubtedly been the most successful merger in the recent history of the UK advertising business. MediaCom doubled its billings to become the UK’s largest and most widely acclaimed media agency, and rose from a 6th place ranking to become UK’s number one media agency within just five years.  In 2004, Stephen was named Vice Chairman of MediaCom Worldwide. 

MediaCom joined GroupM after the WPP acquisition of Grey in 2005, and in January 2006, Stephen became GroupM UK’s first Chairman.  Within this role, he was responsible for GroupM support to the MediaCom UK Group, as well as to MediaCom’s sister agencies Mindshare UK and Mediaedge:cia UK. 

With his appointment as MediaCom Worldwide Chairman & CEO in August 2008, Stephen has returned home to his MediaCom roots.
